The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is designed to help families without private insurance get access to affordable dental care — but each family member must meet eligibility requirements and apply individually.
Here’s how to get your household enrolled:
👨👩👧 Step 1: Check Eligibility for Each Member
- Be a Canadian resident
- Not have access to private dental insurance
- Have a family net income under $90,000
- Be up to date with tax filings
💻 Step 2: Apply Through CRA My Account
- Log into or create a CRA My Account
- Apply for CDCP for each family member who qualifies (e.g., spouse, children, seniors)
- Submit required information and documents (e.g., SIN, ID, proof of income)
🧾 Step 3: Track Approvals and Receive Cards
- Once approved, each eligible person receives their own CDCP dental card
- Book appointments with a CDCP-approved clinic using the card
💡 Tip: Use One CRA Account to Apply for Children
Parents or guardians can apply on behalf of children under 18 through their own CRA accounts.
