How to file a complaint or get help with CDCP

If you’re having issues with your Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) application, coverage, or treatment experience, there are ways to get help or file a formal complaint.

Here’s how to navigate support and resolve concerns:


📞 1. Contact the CDCP Administrator

CDCP is managed by Sun Life in partnership with the federal government. For most questions, including billing or claim denials:

  • Call the CDCP support line listed on your approval letter or card
  • Visit the CDCP page through your CRA My Account

🏥 2. Speak With Your Dental Provider

If the issue involves your treatment plan, charges, or missed appointments:

  • Ask your clinic’s front desk or billing team for help
  • Request a written breakdown of what was covered vs. denied

🧾 3. File a Formal Complaint (If Needed)

If you feel the issue hasn’t been resolved:

  • Submit a complaint to Sun Life’s customer service team
  • You can also escalate your concern to the CRA Ombudsperson
