If you meet the eligibility criteria, applying for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is straightforward — and it’s the first step toward accessing low- or no-cost dental services.
Here’s how the application process works in 2025:
✅ Step 1: Check Eligibility
You must:
- Be a Canadian resident
- Have no access to private dental insurance
- Have a family net income under $90,000
- Be up to date with your tax filings (used to verify income)
📝 Step 2: Apply Through CRA
Go to your CRA My Account online
- Look for the CDCP application option
- Confirm your personal and financial details
- Submit any required documentation (e.g., proof of disability if applicable)
If you don’t have a CRA account, you’ll need to register first. You can also apply by phone in some cases.
💳 Step 3: Receive Your CDCP Dental Card
Once approved, you’ll receive a CDCP dental card in the mail. Bring it to your participating dental provider to access your benefits.
