How does the CDCP dental card work?

Once approved for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), you’ll receive a dental card that gives you access to covered services at participating clinics. It works like a benefits card — and it’s your proof of enrollment in the program.

Here’s what you need to know:

🪪 What the Card Is For

  • Your CDCP dental card:
  • Confirms your eligibility for the program
  • Lets participating clinics bill CDCP directly
  • Shows your name and unique patient ID number

🏥 How to Use It

  • Bring your card (digital or physical copy) to each appointment
  • Present it at reception before treatment
  • Your clinic will verify your co-payment level (0%, 40%, or 60%)

📌 Lost Your Card?

  • You can view or reprint your card by logging into CRA My Account
  • If you don’t have internet access, contact CRA’s support line for help

💡 Tip: Bring ID Too

You may be asked to show government-issued ID (e.g., health card or driver’s licence) alongside your CDCP card to confirm your identity.
