Free Dental Screening Day: They Caught a Serious Issue Early
During our annual Free Dental Screening Day held at the Scarborough Civic Centre, we offered complimentary oral exams to dozens of individuals, many of whom hadnt seen a dentist in years. One of them was Mr. Rajiv*, a 48-year-old who stopped by while accompanying his nephew to the event.
I wasnt planning to get checked, Rajiv shared. But I decided to sit down just in case. Dr. Mohamed noticed swelling near my molar that I had been ignoring.
Upon referral to the clinic, Rajiv underwent further diagnostics and was found to have an infected tooth that required immediate root canal therapy. Left untreated, the infection could have spread to the surrounding bone or affected his systemic health.
Thanks to McLevin Dental, I avoided a painful emergency, Rajiv said. And Im now on a regular schedule for cleanings and checkups.
Smiles in Schools Program: My Daughter Isnt Afraid of the Dentist Anymore
